New Year Resolutions

As the New Year appears, we all feel the urge to alter our lifestyle. This can range from changes such as getting fit and healthy or changing career, or even relocation abroad. Maybe, depending on the type of New Year resolution, the goals can be short, medium or long term - in some cases immediately achievable or in some cases, taking several years to achieve.

The reality may be that sometimes we set ourselves up for failure. Our goals may be too ambitious and not thought through in a balanced way. Our inner Gremlins are ready to battle against our good intentions "why should I bother", "it's too risky", "I'll never manage it". Sound familiar? Negative doubts take over and our resolve fades.

If we want to achieve what we want and make a difference in our life, coaching can help us get there quicker, working with our coach to draw fully on our own resources, rather than going it alone.

From my experience of lifestyle coaching, there are common themes: we want to make life changes but do not know where to start, how to achieve those changes, and how to sustain them. Coaching challenges our habitual thought patterns and behaviours, a coach will invite you to think creatively and experiment with more effective ways of being and acting. Coaching will help you design the future and take progressive steps towards achieving what you really want - it is future orientated.

The past is past, the future is ours.
